Political protests are nothing new, and certainly one would expect there to be plenty of this at the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Denver late this month (link). Already, protesters' activities have been restricted to a chain-link corral. Now channel 4 news has learned about even more restrictive plans in place. Apparently, the police expect there to be enough protestors worthy of arrest during the convention to justify the construction of a vast series of chain link cages, topped by barbed wire, inside a warehouse to act as holding cells. It sounded pretty incredulous at first, but they managed to get a reporter and their camera into the facility before being kicked out.
