Inspired by a website I came across (Hiking The Rockies), we headed out today to do a nice easy day hike to Horsethief Falls. While we expected a bit of snow, we were unprepared for what we encountered this day. We had just finished getting our packs on, and strapping the baby on, when a couple returning from the hike approached us and informed us that the trail was slippery with a lot of snow on it; they had only gone half a mile or so themselves before turning around. Since we had our seven month old with us, a slippery trail was not something we were interested in and after talking with the couple, we decided to head back north a bit to The Crags, another easy hike. Or so we thought.
