The fate of the Pike and San Isabel forests will be discussed in an upcoming meeting in Colorado Springs. At issue is a somewhat regular review by the Forest Service, looking at how (or if) the forest should be used for various activities such as mineral drilling, off roading, horseback riding, and hiking, while also balancing the needs of animal species threatened by such activities. The meeting will be held from 5:30-9:00 on March 6th, at the DoubleTree Hotel (1775 E. Cheyenne Mountain Blvd). You can read more about it in
The Gazette.
