The effort underway to open a ski resort on the west side of Pikes Peak, near The Crags, is hitting some speedbumps and, frankly, its future is uncertain. Their website (skipikespeak.com) has been offline for quite some time now.  Now, the man working to raise money for the development has been ordered to stop selling shares in the venture.  It's hard to know just what to read into that...the Colorado Securities Commissioner says that they failed to register an investment opportunity or to advise investors about the risks involved.  So, it doesn't necessarily mean the project is dead in the water, but when look at that and their dead website, it's not encouraging.  Read more in OutThere.
