Seeing the Blockbuster closing got us to poking around to see what else is going on with business real estate in town. The Tweeds' building is up for sale for $1.4M (here's hoping the business moves instead of closing down for good, I like that shop!). There's an empty lot for sale next to AutoZone, and of course still plenty of empty lots for sale next to Wal-Mart ($500k and up). Burger King is for sale for $1.25M. The KFC is for sale, oh wait, there IS no KFC...but the listing sure makes it sound like it is. The maps shows it on one of the prime lots in the Wal-Mart complex. Best part is in the description, where it says, "available immediately". Hmm, yeah, right. Perhaps a bit strangely, the 9.31 acres labeled as 'Woodland Station Site Pad' is up for sale for $3.2M. Does that mean the city has abandoned this effort? Of course, it should be noted that the accuracy of these listings have not been verified...and in the past, we've seen one local business listed for sale much to the surprise of the business' owner, who assured us the business was NOT for sale. Here's the link for the listings mentioned here.
