Ok, so I don't know who came up with the name 'action sports park', it's a bit ridiculous when you think about it (as opposed to what, an 'inaction' sports park?!).  Well anyway, they've broken ground at red mountain park here in town to convert it into a both a skatepark, and a BMX dirt track (separate facilities in the same park).  You can see a computer rendering of the future park here, or find even better info at the city's parks website (turns out they're even on Facebook).  This new facility will replace the current lame and dilapidated skatepark across from the city hall building, with completion set for the end of June.
