Every September the Chamber of Commerce helps put on the Rocky Mountain Oktoberfest here in Woodland Park. Traditional German music, food, and beer are of course plentiful, and they wisely set up a large tent as you never know what the weather will be! There is an admission charge ($6 per adult), and pets aren't allowed. More info can be found here.
To be honest, it's a bit of a cheesy event, featuring many vendor booths that have no apparent connection to a German celebration, and bouncy castles for kids. Again, where's the connection with a German Oktoberfest? If there weren't an admission charge, it'd potentially attract enough of a critical mass to overshadow those facts, but instead you find yourself wondering if it was really worth the $6 and wondering if it's something you want to do every year, or just now and then. Eliminate or reduce the admission charge, and you just might get enough drunken revelers to fill that dance floor and turn this into a real party.
